A Letter from the President

Welcome to our chapter!

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. I hope you’re able to get a glimpse of our traditions and history -the things that make us very special. Being a part of Sigma is an incredible experience. One of my favorite things is that I have made connections with people I might have never even talked to otherwise. Many of us are different majors with a wide array of interests and passions. I’m constantly learning and growing because of my sisters.

Sigma is a small, social sorority which has created a family-like atmosphere; I’m so grateful for that. Our traditions and history give us an incredible framework to work with, but every sister puts her own love and support to make our sisterhood what it is. Every person’s experience within Sigma is unique as we evolve and grow.

Our goal is to provide a system of support that will foster friendships and experiences that last a lifetime. I have learned to be more accepting of myself, as well as gained the skill of accepting help from others. Our New Member Education process is one designed to not only pass on our traditions but to inspire personal growth.

Sigma is a second home and one that can help you to pursue passions and develop skills along the way. I owe so much to my sisters who have helped me to be brilliant and bold. I’m so honored to be leading Sigma Pi Theta through the 2016-2017 school year. Alumnae, fellow sisters, and future interests, please feel free to contact me at any time with any questions or concerns you may have. Sigma is full of incredible and inspiring women, and we’re so excited to welcome many more!

Warm regards,

Addy Rose

A Letter from the VP

Hello! I’m super happy that your interest in our sisterhood has led you here.
I came out for Sigma in the first semester of my sophomore year of college in the Fall of 2015. Throughout my freshman year of college, I had always felt somewhat alone. I had come from a tightknit group of people in my high school that always supported me no matter what, and I was really missing that feeling. I went to the Org fair in hopes of finding some organizations on campus that could really help me feel the support that I needed. I walked past the FSL (Fraternity and Sorority Life) section, having never really pictured myself as a sorority girl. Right as I was about to go to the next section of tables, I heard a friendly voice call out to me, “I like your shoes!” I turned around and was greeted with two friendly, smiling faces. The conversation with the two girls at the Sigma table was so easy, and it felt like I had been friends with them for years. Both girls, who are now my Big and Grand-Big, encouraged me to come to their info session and recruitment events, and I quickly agreed. I attended each event and met the rest of the sisters whom, much like the two I had already met, felt like old friends. I watched how they interacted with each other and saw how much they all genuinely cared for one another. I knew that this was a group that I had to be a part of.
Sigma Pi Theta has been absolutely incredible to me. This loving, fierce group of women have supported me in everything that I’ve done, whether it’s showing up to one of my comedy troupe’s shows or coming to my room and bringing me ice cream when they know I’ve had a hard day. I couldn’t ask for a better group of friends than this incredible group of ladies. If there’s one lesson I’ve learned from being a sister of Sigma, it’s to always be yourself and keep your head held high. There is nothing wrong with who you are and if you’re lucky enough, you’ll be able to find a group of women who love you no matter what. Sigma Pi Theta is my home away from home, and I know that it will continue to be even after graduating college.
If you ever have any questions about our sisterhood or just want to get to know us better, please feel free to get in contact with us! We’d love to hear from you! Sigma is a sisterhood that fosters personal growth and support, and we’d love for you to join us.
