HerStory Month

Looking for the photos? Try here!

Sigma Pi Theta has dedicated the month of March to empowering femininity in all forms through HerStory. However you identify with femininity, we encourage you to join us for discussions, performances, celebrations, and fun. Participation can mean many things, whether you actively join the conversation or just come to listen. Either way, we would love to have you there.

Here is the schedule of events:

All Month: Donation drive for tampons, pads, and liners.

Look out for boxes around campus to donate tampons, pads, and liners. The feminine products will be going to support homeless women in the Boston area. We all know how expensive these products are, so help us provide them to those who don't have easy access.

March 1st: Beginning of photoshoot release on social media.

Follow @sigmapitheta on Twitter and Instagram and like Sigma Pi Theta on Facebook to see the release of images from our photoshoot. In February, twenty-three people recreated images of influential women of history adding their own unique flair to them. We're beyond excited to share these images with you, and the passion of the people who created them. The purpose of the shoot is to not only honor these powerful women but to see yourself in their greatness.

March 14th: Women's Comedy Night
8pm Multi-Purpose Room

Women are continuously underrepresented in comedy, so we want a night dedicated just to them. Anyone who is female-identifying can perform at this night. Spaces are limited. The night will start off with an opening sketch from Flawed Comedy. Come laugh with us!

March 15th: A Roundtable Discussion on Gender and Sexuality
7pm Multi-Purpose Room

As a liberal arts college, we pride ourselves on diversity and acceptance, but how often do we actually sit down to talk about it? Join us for a discussion on gender and sexuality on our campus. Share your thoughts, hear from others, and help us open a discussion that is long overdue.

March 19th: Sex Workshop
6:30pm Multi-Purpose Room

It can be tough to ask questions about sex and feel confident in the way you sexually express yourself. We want to create a safe space for students to talk with professionals/specialists about the world of sex in a positive way. We're bringing in Michal Goderez from the sex shop Good Vibes to lead this workshop on safe sex, transforming attitudes/sex positivity, sexual communication, masturbation, sex toys, and more.

March 21st: Discussion on Menstruation
7pm Walker 522

If there's one thing we all know about menstruation, it's that talking about it is uncomfortable. At least half the population of the world menstruates or has at one point, so why shy away from it? Come to share your hilarious stories, learn about alternatives to tampons like menstrual cups and period panties, and ask questions you've never gotten to ask. This is open to women, men, anyone who menstruates, and anyone who just wants to learn about it.

March 24th: Formal for Rosie's Place
7pm The Cabaret

A night to dress up. A night to have fun. And a night to give back. Join us for a formal event to raise money for Rosie's Place. Dress in what makes you comfortable and bring your friends to dance, eat, and hang out. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Order form: https://goo.gl/forms/DP82JE3yIMx9MdLu2.

There will be giveaways at every event. All you need to do is come! Featuring products from these contributors:
